The Animal Acres Tree Project
Animal Acres, in Acton, California is a wonderful place where abused animals from factory farms are rescued and given a chance to be treated with love and respect, and allowed to be rehabilitated to be given to forever homes. I've organized volunteer events there before were we cleaned up after the animals, as well as had a great time mingling with the pigs, sheeps, cows, chickens, turkeys, ducks, goats, and other fuzzy creatures.
My mission there in Acton is to help protect these animals from the intense heat of the sun by creating a microclimate of trees. These trees will also help absorb the animal wastes, that will in term help these trees grow tall and strong. In doing so, we'll be protecting the animals, workers, and volunteers from wind and sound pollution. This will also help the native animal population around Animal Acres by creating more habitats for them to nest, feed, and frolic with their friends.
In other words, I'm going to be raising money to help the environment as well as the cuddly animals.
I'm going to be holding a benefit a few days shy of my 39th Birthday to raise money for this wonderful and important cause.
